My work explores the relationship between Critical theory and midlife subcultures. With influences as diverse as Nietzsche and Frida Kahlo, new synergies are crafted from both opaque and transparent discourse. Ever since I was a postgraduate I have been fascinated by the traditional understanding of the universe. What starts out as vision soon becomes debased into a carnival of distress, leaving only a sense of what could have been and the dawn of a new synthesis. As shimmering forms become distorted through diligent and critical practice, the viewer is left with an insight into the limits of our culture.

• Raspberry-Lime Champagne Punch
• Mango Gin Tonic
• Rhubarb Gin Tonic

Rhubarb Gin Tonic

• 40ml gin
• 15ml (1 tbsp) rhubarb syrup
• tonic
• ice

Mango Gin Tonic

• 40ml gin
• 10ml (2 tsp) mango puree
• 2 pcs frozen mango puree
• tonic
• ice

New York Sour

• 60ml whiskey
• 20ml fresh lemon juice
• 20ml simple syrup
• 30ml dry red wine
• pro: egg white of 1 large egg

1. Add whiskey, lemon, simple syrup, and (optionally) egg white to a shaker tin
2. Shake for 15 seconds
3. Add ice, and shake for another 15 seconds
4. Double strain into a glass
5. Using a spoon, float wine on top

Cold Brew Martini

• 25ml vodka
• 50ml Kahlua
• 75ml cold brew
• ice

Put everything into the shaker (including ice), shake well and strain into a martini glass.
